Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 4402, addressed to the Minister of Railways on August 20, 2025, concerns the condition of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on the Kanjauli Railway line, specifically ROB No. 573A situated between Sewar and Bharatpur stations on the Kota-Mathura section. The question inquired whether the government is aware of the ROB's location on the main highway connecting Bharatpur, Alwar, and Deeg districts, its dilapidated condition posing accident risks, and proposals for reconstruction/repair. The Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, responded that the ROB was constructed in 2013 by the Rajasthan State Road Development Construction Corporation Ltd. (RSRDC) in lieu of Level Crossing LC No. 244. As per existing policy, the Railways is responsible for maintaining the portion of the ROB within railway land, while the State Government/Road owning Authority/Local Authority is responsible for the remaining portion, including roadway maintenance, lighting, and approaches. Inspections of ROB No. 573A have found the structural part within the railway portion to be in safe and sound condition. Repair work for the non-railway portion, including the road surface and approaches, will be undertaken by the State Government. Inspection and maintenance of the ROB is an ongoing process with concerned authorities responsible for maintenance within their respective portions based on inspection reports.
