Parliament Question: Dilapidated Condition of Road in Nashik

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 915 ANSWERED ON 23RD JULY, 2026 DILAPIDATED CONDITION OF ROAD IN NASHIK †915. SHRI BHAUSAHEB RAJARAM WAKCHAURE: Will the MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the dilapidated condition of the roads connecting Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur and Nashik and has taken any corrective action in view of the Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027; (b) whether any road construction proposal from Padhegaon to Shani Shingnapur and Khadaka Fata to Khamgaon is under consideration, if so, the details thereof; (c) whether priority would be given to the construction of the Baherwadi-Khala Kimri bridge over the Godavari River, which connects major pilgrimage sites, if so, the details thereof; (d) whether immediate sanction would be given to these projects under the Central Road Fund (CRF), if so, the details thereof; and (e) whether any special time-bound plan has been prepared to complete these works before the Kumbh Mela, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (e) In view of the upcoming Nashik Kumbh Mela, 2027, the Government has sanctioned 16 projects costing Rs. 8500 crores for the development of various National Highways (NHs) connecting Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur and Nashik. These projects are under various stages of implementation.As regards Padhegaon to Shani Shingnapur, Khadaka Fata to Khamgaon and Baherwadi-Khala Kimri Bridge over the Godavari River, these projects fall on the District Roads, the development and maintenance of which is the responsibility of State Government of Maharashtra. The role of Central Government is limited to approval of list of projects prioritised by State Governments/ UTs for development of State / UT Roads as per guidelines for sanction and implementation of projects under Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Such list of projects prioritised and submitted by State / UT Government is scrutinized and approved vis-à-vis accrual of the State / UT and outstanding committed liabilities of already sanctioned works i.e. Bank of Sanction (BOS) under CRIF. As on date, no such proposal for development of above roads has been recommended by the State Government under CRIF. *****
