DIRECT TRAIN SERVICE BETWEEN MYSURU AND GOA
1750. SHRI VISHWESHWAR HEGDE KAGERI:
Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware that Mysuru (Karnataka) and Goa—
remain unconnected by a direct train service, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether it is a fact that Karwar lacks direct train connectivity to Mysuru
and to other key locations such as the airport and port city of Vasco-da-
Gama, if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether South Western Railway (SWR) and Konkan Railway Corporation
Limited (KRCL) had jointly proposed and agreed during the IRCTC 2024
deliberations to extend Train No. 16585 SMVB–Murdeshwar Express up to
Vasco-da-Gama via Karwar with rake-sharing arrangements with Train No.
1309 YPR–Vasco Express, if so, the details thereof and the reasons for delay
in implementation of the said project?

(a) to (c) Indian Railways constantly endeavours to connect important
stations through direct train services by operating new trains or by
extending existing services. This is an on-going process on Indian Railways
subject to traffic justification, operational feasibility, resource availability,
etc.
Presently, Mysuru - Bengaluru sector is served by 36 pairs of train services,
while Bengaluru-Vasco-da-Gama sector is served by 2 pairs of train services.
