GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1829 TO BE ANSWERED ON 29.07.2026 EARLY COMPLETION OF SANCTIONED ROB WORKS IN PEDDAPALLI LOK SABHA CONSTITUENCY 1829. SHRI VAMSI KRISHNA GADDAM: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether any Road Over Bridge works have been sanctioned in Peddapalli Lok Sabha Constituency and if so, the present status thereof; (b) the status of ROBs at LC Nos. 31 and 32 Odela, LC No. 34 Kolanur, LC No. 38 Cheekurai, LC No. 39 Konaram, LC Nos. 40 and 46 Gaureddypeta, LC No. 46E/A Kannala, LC No. 49 Kundhanapalli and LC No. 52 Pedampeta; (c) whether there has been any delay in each ROB work and if so, the reasons therefor; (d) whether funds have been sanctioned and expenditure incurred for above said ROBs and if so, the details thereof; (e) whether the Government proposes to prepare a time-bound completion plan for above said ROBs and if so, the details thereof; and (f) whether the expected date of completion of each ROB has been fixed and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (f): Sanctioning of works of Road over Bridge (ROB)/Road under Bridge (RUB) in lieu of Level crossings (LCs) is a continuous and dynamic process of Indian Railway. Such works are prioritised and taken up on the basis of their impact on safety in train operations, mobility of trains & impact for road users and feasibility etc. § Page 1 of 5No. of ROBs/ RUBs constructed on Indian Railways during the period 2004-14 vis a vis 2014-26 (Upto May’26) is as under: Period ROBs/ RUBs constructed 2004-14 4,148 Nos. 2014-26 (Upto May’26) 14,451 Nos. (520 Nos. in the State of Telangana) As on 01.06.2026, 4,993 Nos. ROB/ RUB works are sanctioned at a cost of approx. ₹ 1,17,492 Cr on Indian Railways including 118 Nos. ROB/ RUB at a cost of approx. ₹ 4,883 Cr in the state of Telangana which are at various stages of planning and execution. As on 01.06.2026, there are 13 ROBs, 26 RUBs and 20 LCs in Peddapalli Constituency. 16 works are sanctioned in Peddapalli Constituency for construction of ROB and the work of preparation of Technical Feasibility Report/ Detailed Project Report (TFR/DPR) has been taken up for 04 LCs. Peddapalli Approach work has been taken up. 9 LC No.40 at km 291/14- ROB 96 GAD has been approved. 16 on Peddapalli- Tender has been Raghavapuram awarded. 10 LC No.42 at km 289/14- ROB 46 The work of GAD and 16 on Peddapalli – estimate have been Raghavapuram taken up. 11 LC No. 44 at km 285/24- ROB 46 The work of GAD and 26 on Peddapalli - estimate have been Raghavapuram taken up. 12 LC No. 45 at km 284/40- ROB 50 The work of GAD and 44 on Peddapalli - estimate have been Raghavapuram taken up. Page 3 of 513 LC No. 46 at km 282/10- ROB 86 GAD under review. 12 on Raghavapuram - Tender has been Ramagundam awarded. 14 LC No. 49 at km 275/46- ROB 111 GAD under review. 48 on Raghavapuram - Tender has been Ramagundam awarded. 15 LC No. 52 at km 270/41- ROB 35 The work of GAD and 43 on Ramagundam- estimate have been Peddampet taken up. 16 LC No. 68 at km 226/12- ROB 52 The work of GAD and 14 on Rechni Road- estimate have been Repalliwada taken up. 17 LC No. 1 at km 3/2-3 on - - The work of preparation Peddapalli- Karimnagar of Technical Feasibility 18 LC No. 2 at km 3/13-14 - - Report/ Detailed on Peddapalli- Project Report Karimnagar (TFR/DPR) for the 19 LC No. 5 at km 7/11-12 - - construction of ROB on Peddapalli- at these LCs has been Karimnagar taken up. 20 LC No. 6 at km 13/0-1 - - on Peddapalli- Karimnagar Completion & commissioning of ROB/RUB works depends on various factors like cooperation of State Governments in giving consent for closure of LC, fixing of approach alignment, approval of General Arrangement Drawing (GAD), land acquisition, removal of encroachment, shifting of infringing utilities, statutory clearances from various Page 4 of 5authorities, law and order situation in the area of project / work sites, duration of working season in a year for the particular project / area due to climatic conditions etc. All these factors affect the completion time of the projects / works. 16 Nos. Finalization of Alignment by State Govt. 01 Railways have taken following measures to expedite the progress of ROB/RUB works: i. Joint survey with concerned State Govt./Road Owning Authority is done before finalizing the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) to ensure smooth execution. ii. Periodic meetings of Railway & State Government officials are done to resolve various issues related to ROB/RUB works. iii. Standardization of superstructure and substructure drawings for various combinations of span, skewness and width of road on the Railway portion has been done to avoid delays during the design approval. This has been issued in the form of a compendium, which can be directly adopted for Road Over Bridge across Railway lines for expeditious planning. ***** Page 5 of 5
