(a) to (f) To address Tuberculosis (TB), the Government has implemented the National TB
Elimination Programme (NTEP) under the aegis of the National Health mission with key
strategiesasunder:
promotion of early diagnosis of TB patients, prompt treatment with quality assured
drugs
involvementof private sector inTBcare
implementation of prevention strategies including TB preventive treatment and
contacttracingin highrisk/vulnerable populationand
airborne infectioncontrol.
The State-wise targets set for notification of TB cases and achievement including the State of
Karnataka for the year2024 isplaced asAnnexure- I.
The Government through Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has conducted the
National TBPrevalence Surveyin 20 State/Group of States in2021. In addition,District levelAnnual Surveys are conducted to monitor the trends of the TB incidence at the
State/UTs/District level. Through this methodology, State/UTs/District level estimates of TB
disease are derived and measured against the baseline of 2015. Three rounds of this exercise
hasbeenconductedin2020,2021& 2022.
To intensify efforts & to achieve national goals for TB elimination, including for aspirational
districts & rural areas, inthe year2025-26 anamount of Rs. 3259.26croreshasbeenallocated
excluding a cash grant of Rs 2318.80 crores as part of RCH Flexipool. The budget allocated
& utilizedunderNTEPfor the last 3 yearsisplaced asAnnexure- II.
