Parliament Question: Empanelment of Hospitals under Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Will the Minister of HEALTHAND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleased tostate:

(a) the criteria and the prescribed process involved for the empanelment of hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the total number of Government and private hospitals currentlyempanelled across the country,State-wise;

(b) the detailsof the treatment categoriescoveredunderthe said scheme; and

(c)the steps taken by the Government to raise awareness about the said scheme amongsenior citizens in rural areas across the country including any collaborations with local Government bodiesandcommunityorganizations? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATEIN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTHAND FAMILYWELFARE

(a): Under Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), hospital empanelment is a continuous process and is done as per the criteria and process provided under the empanelment guidelines. The detailed guidelines are available at:

(b): AB-PMJAYisa flagship scheme of the Government which provideshealthcoverof Rs.5 lakhperfamilyperyearforsecondaryandtertiarycarehospitalization.UnderthelatestHealth Benefit Package 2022,a total of 1961 proceduresacross 27specialties are available,of which 743aremedicalproceduresand1218surgicalprocedures.

(c): AB-PMJAY has a comprehensive media and outreach strategy to spread awareness and empower beneficiaries for their rights and entitlements. This includes advertisement over traditional media platforms including newspapers, community radio, through street plays,digital displays, radio campaigns, mass messaging, telecast of beneficiary testimonials etc.

StateHealth Agencieshave also engaged a wide network of frontline workers i.e.,Accredited Social Health Activist, Anganwadi Worker who have played pivotal roles in creating mass awareness at the grassroot level. In addition to this the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card beneficiaries may give a missed call to helpline number 1800-110-770 or call at 24x7 call centre (14555) for any assistance/queries. Further, National Health Authority has issued directions to the states to undertake extensive Information, education and communication activitiestoraisetheawarenessabouttheexpansionofAB-PMJAYforallseniorcitizensofthe age70yearsandabove.
