(CVPPL) and National Hydro electronic Power Corporation (NHPC) Ltd; and (b) reasons for CVPPL functioning without a Joint Managing Director for the last ten years and details of all the vacancies in CVPPL and NHPC in Jammu and Kashmir? A N S W E R THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD NAIK) (a) : The details of Project Affected Families (PAFs) due to development of hydroelectric projects (HEPs) in Kishtwar district and number of PAFs to whom employment has been provided in Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL) and NHPC Limited, are as under : Sl. Kwar HEP 540 CVPPL 27 ** While, there is no provision of employment for PAFs under the R&R Plan of these projects, as approved by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the employment opportunities have been provided through contractors to around 6,211 local persons from Kishtwar district including 552 PAFs. Moreover, bidding opportunities are also provided to PAFs and local people to promote entrepreneurship and support local businesses. (b) : As per the Articles of Association of Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL) dated 02.06.2011, the post of Joint Managing Director (JMD) is to be held by the nominee of Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC). JKSPDC nominated their candidates for the post of Joint Managing Director during the period from December 2013 to January 2015 and again from March 2023 to January 2024. Further, the vacancies in CVPPL and NHPC Limited are filled up regularly as and when it arises. ***********
