Parliament Question: Employment in Oil PSUs in Assam

SHRI PHANI BHUSAN CHOUDHURY पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) the number of regular employees currently working under Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Oil India Limited (OIL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam separately for each Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and by category or group, namely Executive, Non-Executive, Group A, Group B, Group C or equivalent; (b) the number of employees domiciled in Assam out of the total employees separately for each PSU and by employee category or group; (c) the number of employees recruited by these PSUs in Assam during the last five years, year-wise and category-wise; (d) the present recruitment policy followed by IOCL, OIL and ONGC for appointments in Assam and whether there is any provision for giving preference to local candidates, if so, the details thereof; and (e) the present vacancy position in each PSU in Assam along with the details of vacant posts, grade-wise and category-wise? The Government has delegated enhanced powers to the Boards of Maharatna, Navratna and Miniratna CPSEs in financial and operational matters, including HR policy. As IOCL, OIL and ONGC are Maharatna CPSEs, their Boards are competent to formulate and implement their respective HR policies for below Board-level employees, subject to Government guidelines. These CPSEs comply with all statutory provisions and Government directives relating to reservation and recruitment. Candidates belonging to Assam are encouraged to participate in the open recruitment process and are considered for appointment subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria, merit and other applicable conditions.
