Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to
state:
(a)the present status of the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Scheme
in the country along with the State/UT-wise number of insured
persons, particularly in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in
Maharashtra;
(b) the details of the number of beneficiaries under the ESI Scheme
and the number of ESI dispensaries/hospitals in district;
(c)the details of the number of establishment covered and the number
of insured persons under the ESI Scheme in the country, State/UT-
wise;
(d)whether the Government proposes to establish at least one ESI
dispensary or hospital in each district of the country and if so, the
details thereof; and
(e)the details of the steps taken/being taken to extend ESI benefits
to workers in the unorganised sector?

(a) to (e): The Employees' State Insurance (ESl) Scheme has been
implemented in 713 districts in the country.
There are 2,37,291 Insured Persons (IPs) and 9,01,706 ESI
beneficiaries in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district as on 31.03.2025.
State/UT wise details of number of insured persons as well as
establishments covered under ESI Scheme, as 31.03.2025, are at
Annexure.

Setting up of ESI Hospital or dispensary is an ongoing
process. ESI Corporation (ESIC) gives approval for setting up of new
ESI hospitals and dispensaries based on population of Insured
Persons in an area in accordance with the norms of ESIC. At present,
there are 07 Dispensaries and 01 hospital in Chhatrapati
Sambhajinagar district in Maharashtra.
The Government has enacted Code on Social Security,
2020 with the goal to extend social security to all employees and
workers either in the organized or unorganized or any other sectors
and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
