Shri Santosh Pandey: Shri Putta Mahesh Kumar: Shri G M Harish Balayogi: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the details of the Prime Minister School of Rising India (PM SHRI) Schools established in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, district-wise particularly in Eluru and Konaseema districts of Andhra Pradesh including their current operational status and enrolment figures; (b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised or financial assistance provided under PM SHRI scheme in the above States and districts during the last three years and the current year, year-wise; (c) whether any delay or challenges have been encountered in implementing PM SHRI Scheme in Eluru and Konaseema districts of Andhra Pradesh, if so, the details thereof; (d) the details of the positions currently vacant in PM SHRI Schools in Eluru and Konaseema districts, including the steps taken to fill these posts; and (e) whether any proposals is pending with the Government for establishing PM-SHRI Schools in Eluru and Konaseema districts of Andhra Pradesh along with the reasons for their pendency, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a): Under PM SHRI scheme, 341 PM SHRI schools have been selected from the State of Chhattisgarh and 935 PM SHRI schools have been selected from the State of Andhra Pradesh through transparent challenge method. The details of PM SHRI schools may be accessed on the website of PM SHRI scheme at the link: https://pmshri.education.gov.in/state. Further, a total of 37 PM SHRI schools from Eluru district and 28 PM SHRI schools from Konaseema district have been selected under the PM SHRI scheme. The details of PM SHRI schools selected in Eluru and Konaseema districts including enrolment figures is attached as Annexure-I.(b): The centrally sponsored scheme of PM SHRI was approved by Cabinet on 7th September, 2022. Education is in the Concurrent List of the Constitution and matters related to the implementation of schemes, recruitment and rational deployment of teachers come under the purview of respective State Government. Recruitment of teachers in schools is a continuous process as vacancies keep arising due to factors like retirement, resignation and additional requirements on account of enhanced students’ strength/new schools. The onus of recruitment of teachers through a comprehensive technology-based planning and forecasting exercise lies on the respective State Government.
