In response to Unstarred Question No. 1872 on February 11, 2026, regarding the expansion of telecom infrastructure in Amroha, Shri Kanwar Singh Tanwar asked the Minister of Communications about the government's assessment of the need for expanding telecommunication infrastructure in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, including new towers, fiber connectivity, and improved last-mile coverage, prioritizing underserved villages (Hasanpur, Dhanoura, Joya, and Mandawar).
Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, stated that as of December 2025, all 1,124 villages in the Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh are covered with 4G mobile connectivity. Further, the Amended BharatNet Project aims to provide connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) in the country, upgrading the existing network to ring topology and connectivity to about 3.8 Lakh non-GP villages on demand. The project includes broadband services such as Wi-Fi Hotspots and Fibre to the Home (FTTH) connections, including in the Amroha District.

Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has assessed the need for expanding telecommunication
infrastructure in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh including installation of new towers, expansion of
fiber-based connectivity and improvement of last-mile coverage, prioritizing underserved villages
around Hasanpur, Dhanoura, Joya and Mandawar with the aim of strengthening digital access for
students, farmers, traders and for the delivery of public services;
(b) if so, the details of the infrastructure approvals, fiber expansion initiatives, village coverage
plan and implementation related timeline in the said district; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?
