GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-4227 ANSWERED ON-01/04/2026 Expenditure on education 4227 Dr. John Brittas: Will the Minister of Education be pleased to state: (a) actual expenditure by Union Government on education during the last five years as percentage of GDP; (b) year-wise and State-wise details thereof; (c) actual expenditure by State Governments on education during the last five years as percentage of GSDP; (d) year-wise and State-wise details thereof; (e) year-wise growth rate in Union Budget allocations for Education during the last five years, and the extent to which such growth, in real terms, has kept pace with inflation; and (f) year-wise details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (DR.
