Parliament Question: Facilities in Anganwadis

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF WOMEN & CHILD DEVELOPMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO: 3249 TO BE ANSWERED ON 07.08.2026 FACILITIES IN ANGANWADIS 3249. SHRI VARUN CHAUDHRY: Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the total number of operational Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and the number of AWCs which lack the facilities of drinking water, toilets, electricity connection, etc.; and (b) the time frame by which the facilities like drinking water, toilets, electricity connection etc. will be provided in the AWCs across the country? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT (SHRIMATI SAVITRI THAKUR) (a) to (b) The state wise number of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and details of infrastructure are available at the link: https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics. Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 is a Centrally Sponsored scheme. The implementation of the scheme falls under the ambit of State Governments and UTs administration. The matter regarding infrastructure is regularly taken up with States and UTs through sustained engagements and video conferences so as to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services to the beneficiaries. Also, in order to improve the infrastructure facilities at AWCs, funds @Rs.17,000/- for providing drinking water facilities and @Rs.36,000/- for construction of toilets are provided to States and UTs. *****
