ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS
(SHRI TOKHAN SAHU)
(a) & (b): Urban Transport is an integral part of Urban Development, which is a state subject,
therefore, planning and development of Urban Transport including Metro Rail Project is done by
respective State Governments. Central Government considers financial assistance to these
projects, as per Metro Rail Policy, 2017, depending on feasibility of the proposal and availability
of resources as and when posed by the concerned State Governments. However, no such proposal
for feasibility study, Detailed Project Report or technical assessment for Metro/ Mass Rapid
Transit System in Nanded City has been received from Government of Maharashtra.
