“FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER MUSEUM GRANT SCHEME”

Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:
(a) the details of museums provided financial assistance under the Museum Grant Scheme
during the last five years, year and State/UT-wise along with the names and nature of
projects supported;
(b) the details of the total budget allocation for the Scheme during the said period, year-wise;
(c) the details of the funds sanctioned and actually released under the Scheme during the last
five years, year-wise;
(d) the details of the funds utilised by the beneficiary States/UTs and Institutions, including
unspent balances, if any, and
(e) the details of the steps taken/being taken by the Government to ensure timely utilisation
and monitoring of funds under the Scheme?

(a) The details of museums provided financial assistance under the Museum Grant Scheme
with their names and nature of projects supported during the last five years, State/UT-wise
are at Annexure-I.
(b) The details of the total budget allocation for the Museum Grants Scheme during last five
year.

(c) The details of the amount sanctioned and actually released under the Museum Grant
Scheme during the last five years are at Annexure-I.
(d) The details of funds utilised by the organization/museums of state/UTs and Institutions are
at Annexure-I.
(e) To facilitate for better utilization of funds, the scheme guidelines of Museum Grant
Scheme were revised in November, 2021 and two new components viz. Virtual
Experiential Museums (VEM) and Projects of National importance have been added in the
scheme. Further, the procedural aspects have also been streamlined to ensure that more
organisations/entities come forward with projects under this scheme.
To monitor the funds released to the projects, the scheme guidelines provides for quarterly
progress report of the projects and physical inspection is carried out before release of the
3rd/final instalment to the projects.Annexure-I
