(a) whether the construction work of the proposed Fish landing Centre at Silcoorie in
Cachar district in Assam has been started;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the extent to which the said work has been completed
so far;
(c) whether any timeline has been fixed for completion of the said work, if so, the details
thereof; and
(d) the total funds sanctioned/released and utilised so far by the Government for the
said project?

(a) to (d) The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and
Dairying has approved the proposal of Government of Assam for construction of Modern
Integrated Fish Landing Center (FLC) at Chunari village in Goalpara District, Assam at a
total cost of Rs. 1991.52 lakh with central share of Rs. 1792.37 lakh under Pradhan Mantri
Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during 2022-23.
An amount of Rs. 896.18 lakh has been released to Government of Assam for
construction of Fish Landing Center at Chunari, Goalpara District, Assam by the
Department of Fisheries, Government of India. As reported by the Government of Assam,
the land site had been identified, and thereafter, construction work has been awarded to
State Public Works Department. Further, it is informed that the construction of Fish
Landing Center at Chunari is expected to be completed by December, 2026.
So far as Silcoorie, Cachar District of Assam is concerned, the Department of Fisheries,
Government of India has approved the establishment of one Smart Modern Wholesale
Fish Market at Silcoorie, Cachar with state-of-art features including hygienic
infrastructure, cold chain and waste management, digital auctioning, inclusive design,
traceability etc. at a total outlay of Rs. 2585.00 lakh with central share Rs. 1979.00 lakh
under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana during 2024-25. As informed by
Government of Assam, the construction work for establishment of smart Modern
Wholesale Fish Market at Silcoorie, Cachar has already been started and expected to be
completed by December, 2026.
