Parliament Question: Flights from Hisar Airport

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 2042 ( TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 30th July 2026 ) FLIGHTS FROM HISAR AIRPORT 2042. SHRI JAI PARKASH Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether the Government proposes to operate new flights under the UDAN Scheme to expand air connectivity from Hisar Airport/Aerodrome in Haryana to major cities in the country and if so, the details thereof; (b) the details of the flights currently operating and proposed from Hisar Airport along with their destinations and operational status; (c) the amount of the funds sanctioned and utilised so far under the UDAN Scheme for the development of Hisar Airport including expansion of passenger facilities, runway, terminal building and other essential infrastructure; and (d) whether the Government has prepared any special action plan to develop Hisar as a regional aviation hub and attract new airlines and if so, the details thereof and the likely timeline fixed in this regard? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (d): The Government has launched the next phase of the UDAN Scheme on 04.07.2026 to further enhance regional air connectivity across the country, connect 120 new destinations, and serve 4 crore passengers over the next 10 years. As per the provisions of the Scheme, Hisar airport is eligible for bidding under the underserved Airport category in the forthcoming bidding rounds. Further, the Government of Haryana may identify and propose State Priority Routes for inclusion in the bidding process, based on regional connectivity requirements, passenger demand and operational feasibility.At present, Hisar Airport is connected to Ayodhya, Delhi, Chandigarh and Jaipur with 14 flights per week by M/s Alliance Air. With the repeal of the Air Corporations Act in March 1994, the Indian domestic aviation has been deregulated. Airlines are free to induct capacity with any aircraft type, free to select whatever markets and network they wish to service depending on their operational & commercial viability. Hisar airport, owned by State Government of Haryana, was identified during 2nd round of bidding under the UDAN scheme. An expenditure of Rs.29.21 crore was incurred for its development and the airport was initially licensed under the 2B category. Thereafter, the State Government of Haryana has further upgraded the airport at its own cost. The airport has now been licensed as a 4C category. ******
