FOREIGN POLICY TOWARDS ISRAEL

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-
(a) the official position of Indian on the current political and humanitarian
crisis going on in the Gaza Strip;
(b) whether there is a shift in our foreign policy towards Israel; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a to c) India’s policy towards Palestine and Israel has been long-standing.
India remains committed to achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting
peace in the Middle East. Prime Minister met the President of Palestine
on the sidelines of Summit of the Future in New York in September 2024
1and reiterated India’s principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue.
During his State Visit to Israel in February 2026, Prime Minister reiterated
India’s support for all efforts that contribute to durable peace and regional
stability.
India has expressed concern at the humanitarian situation in Gaza
and called for safe, timely and sustained delivery of humanitarian
assistance to the people of Palestine. India condemned the loss of civilian
lives and called for a ceasefire, release of all hostages and peaceful
resolution of conflict through dialogue and diplomacy and welcomed the
Gaza Peace Plan. India’s support for all efforts towards a lasting peace
was reaffirmed by Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Kirti Vardhan
Singh at the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh on 13 October 2025.
Since the beginning of the conflict, India has provided around 70
MT of humanitarian aid, including 16.5 MT of medicines and medical
supplies in two tranches in October- November 2023. Again, in October
and November 2024, India sent 65 tonnes of medicines to United Nations
Relief and Work Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)
and Palestine Ministry of Health. The list of medicines is at Annexure.
India has also released a total of $12.5 million since the beginning of the
conflict, including $5 million in 2025, to UNRWA.
