Parliament Question: Four Lane NHs to Six Lane in Tamil Nadu

M K VISHNU PRASAD: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार् ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) the length of stretches of the National Highways (NHs) targeted to be converted into four lane and six lane during the year 2025-26 in Tamil Nadu; (b) the length of highways converted into four lane and six lane till now in Tamil Nadu, the details thereof, State/stretch-wise during the last five years; (c) the time by which the remaining work thereon is likely to be completed; (d) the funds allocated by the Union Government to various States for this purpose and the amount of funds utilised so far, State-wise particularly for Tamil Nadu; and (e) the length of stretches of the highways likely to be converted into four lane and six lane in the coming years in Tamil Nadu? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) The Government has targeted the approval of about 600 km of National Highways for upgradation to 4/6 lane during 2025-26 in Tamil Nadu.(b) & (c) The details are at Annexure A. (d) The details are at Annexure B. (e) Development of National Highway (NH) in the country is a continuous process.
