Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the first MEMU train 03271 running between Islampur and
Patna starts at 6.30 AM and the subsequent train is scheduled after 10
hrs;
(b) whether MEMU train 03396 running between Patna and Islampur
first starts at 10.30 AM and the subsequent one is scheduled at 8.30
PM after 10 hrs; and
(c) if so, the time by which additional pair of MEMU train is likely to be
introduced to run between Islampur-Patna and Patna-Islampur to meet
the long pending demand?

(a) to (c) Presently, 03271 Islampur-Patna MEMU is being operated as
63325 Islampur-Patna MEMU while 03396 Patna-Islampur MEMU is
being operated as 63326 Patna-Islampur MEMU. Accordingly, 04 pairs
of regular train services are catering to the needs of Islampur-Patna
sector which include 2 pairs of MEMU services viz. 63325/63326
Islampur-Patna MEMU and 63327/63328 Islampur-Patna MEMU.
Besides, introduction of new train services including MEMU service, is
an on-going process on Indian Railways, subject to traffic justification,
operational feasibility, availability of resources, etc.
