Functional AYUSH Wellness Centres in Uttar Pradesh

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of AYUSH Wellness Centres, sanctioned and functional in Uttar Pradesh,
particularly in Banda and Chitrakoot districts;
(b) the details of approval status and progress of proposed new AYUSH units in Naraini and Maee
blocks of these districts;
(c) whether the budget has been released for the development of herbal garden at Chitrakoot Dham;
(d) if so, the details of the expenditure incurred thereon; and
(e) the reasons for delay in implementation and the remedial plan in this regard?
ANSWER

(a) & (b) Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), as per the
proposals received from State Government of Uttar Pradesh, Ministry of Ayush has approved 1034
Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM (Ayush)] erstwhile Ayush Health & Wellness Centre
in different districts of Uttar Pradesh including 12 AAM (Ayush) in Banda district and 05 AAM
(Ayush) in Chitrakoot district. As reported by State Government of Uttar Pradesh, all AAM
(Ayush) are functional.
Further, Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility for establishment
of new Ayush units in Naraini and Maee blocks of Banda and Chitrakoot districts lies with the
respective State Government. However, under NAM there is provision of financial assistance for
establishment of Ayush Dispensary and accordingly, State Government may avail assistance by
submitting suitable proposal through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) as per provision of NAM
guidelines.
1(c) to (e) The National Medicinal Plants Board under Ministry of Ayush is implementing a "Central
Sector Scheme on Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants"
in which there is a provision to provide project based support to develop different types of Herbal
Gardens viz. School Herbal Gardens, Institutional/ Public Herbal Gardens/Ayush van and Herbal
Gardens of State and National Importance. The details of the funds released and utilized for herbal
garden at Chitrakoot is furnished at Annexure.
Further, as reported by State Government of Uttar Pradesh, Herbal Gardens have already
been developed in Chitrakoot dham @ Rs.20,000/- per Herbal Garden in 05 AAM (Ayush).
