Parliament Question: Funds Spent under Corporate Social Responsibility in Etah District

Shri Devesh Shakya: Will the Minister of CORPORATE AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the total amount of funds spent by the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited in Etah district in Uttar Pradesh under Corporate Social Responsibility during the last three years, year-wise; (b) the amount of funds spent on projects in sectors such as education, health, drinking water, environmental conservation, skill development and other social areas under Corporate Social Responsibility during the said period in Etah district along with the project-wise, item-wise and location-wise details thereof; and (c) whether the Government proposes to formulate any special scheme for the development of education, health, environmental conservation and basic infrastructure in the Etah district particularly in the villages surrounding the Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project under Corporate Social Responsibility in future and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND CORPORATE AFFAIRS (SHRIMATI NIRMALA SITHARAMAN) (a) to (c): A Statement is laid on the Table of the House. *******STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) TO (c) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 510 (10th POSITION) FOR 30th MARCH, 2026 REGARDING FUNDS SPENT UNDER CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN ETAH DISTRICT. (a) & (b): All data related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) filed by companies in MCA21 registry including project wise is available in public domain and can be accessed at www.csr.gov.in. On the basis of annual filings made by companies in the MCA21 registry, Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited has not reported to spend any CSR amount in Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. Development Sector wise CSR expenditure in Etah district in Uttar Pradesh during the Financial Years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 is at Annexure. (c): Under the Companies Act, CSR is a Board driven process and the Board of the company is empowered to plan, decide, execute and monitor CSR activities of the company based on the recommendation of its CSR Committee. This Committee formulates and recommends the CSR policy, which outlines the activities to be undertaken by the company in alignment with the areas or subjects specified in Schedule VII of the Act.
