Parliament Question: GMP and NABL Accreditation under AOGUSY

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3500 TO BE ANSWERED ON 13th MARCH 2026 GMP and NABL Accreditation under AOGUSY +3500. Shri Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor: Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state: (a) whether any special assistance has been provided by the Government to AYUSH manufacturing units for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditation under the AYUSH Oushadhi Gunvatta evam Uttapadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY) in Gujarat including the Dahod Parliamentary constituency; (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) whether the Government has sanctioned any special package for the establishment/strengthening of quality control laboratories for AYUSH drugs in tribal populated areas, if so, the details thereof; and (d) the total funds sanctioned/ released by the Government so far in the country, State/ UT- wise including Gujarat along with the number of units benefited in this regard? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) & (b) Ministry of Ayush is implementing a Central Sector Scheme Ayush Oushadhi Gunavatta evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY) since 2021-22 with total budget outlay of Rs. 122.00 crores for five years. Till date, 18 Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy (ASU&H) pharmacies and 07 ASU&H Drug Testing Laboratories (DTLs) have been supported financially under this scheme across the country. An amount of Rs. 40.13 crore has been sanctioned as Grant- in-Aid to these pharmacies and DTLs. The components of AOGUSY scheme are as follows: - i. Strengthening and up-gradation of Ayush Pharmacies and Drug Testing Laboratories to achieve higher standards. ii. Pharmacovigilance of ASU&H drugs including surveillance of misleading advertisements. iii. Strengthening of Central and State regulatory frameworks including Technical Human Resource & Capacity Building programs for Ayush drugs. 1iv. Support for development of standards and accreditation/certification of Ayush products & materials in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Quality Control of India (QCI) and other relevant scientific institutions and industrial R&D centers. (c) & (d) The AOGUSY scheme is being implemented throughout the country. However, there is no special package for the establishment/strengthening of quality control laboratories for Ayush drugs in tribal populated areas.
