(a) to (d) The Government in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of
National Highways (NHs).
The project of Gorakhpur Link Expressway is not a NH. The State
Government of Uttar Pradesh took up implementation of the State road
project through Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development
Authority (UPEIDA). As per the information furnished by UPEIDA,
the 91.352 km length of Gorakhpur Link Expressway from Jaitpur in
Gorakhpur district to Salarpur in Azamgarh district has been completed
except a Vehicular Overpass on Sikariganj Belghat road at km
28.245. Provisional completion certificate has been issued in June
2025. The funds released / utilised for the project amounts to Rs
7,122 crore. The Expressway has been opened for traffic in June 2025.
