Dr. M K VISHNU PRASAD: Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री) be pleased to state: (a) the details and the number of new suppliers who have registered themselves in the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to enable them to sell their products directly to various Government departments and organizations, State and year-wise during last three years and current year; (b) the number of suppliers who have actively participated in trade activities on the Portal out of the total registered; (c) the details and the total number of suppliers who have participated in the Portal from Tamil Nadu, in absolute figures as well as comparative to the rest of the country; and (d) whether there is any mechanism to identify and weed out shell companies or fake companies from the GeM Portal, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय में राज्यमंत्री (श्री णिणिन प्रसाद) THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) The State /UT-wise and year-wise number of new suppliers who have registered themselves on the Government e Marketplace (GeM) and completed their profiles as on 30th July 2025 is placed at Annexure I. (b) & (c) A total of 5,19,782 sellers have actively participated in trade activities (catalogue uploaded on GeM or participated in bid) on the Portal out of the total registered. The total number of suppliers who have actively participated in the trade activities on GeM portal from Tamil Nadu is 19,955.
