Will the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs be pleased to state:
a) whether the Government has noticed delays in the redressal of
grievances under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and
Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, since the Appellate Authority
of the grievance redressal mechanism is headed by the Local Self
Governments (LSGs) themselves and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) whether the Government is planning to amend Appellate Authority
provision of grievance redressal mechanism by replacing the LSGs
with the High Courts of the States concerned and if
so, the details thereof?

(a) The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of
Street Vending) Act, 2014 was notified by the Govt of India. However,
its implementation lies with the State Governments/Union Territories
concerned. Monitoring of cases regarding redressal of grievance
under Section 20 of the Act is not maintained by MoHUA.
