Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the growth of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in the country during the last five years and its overall contribution to the national economy;
(b) the comparison of this growth with the previous five-year period in terms of economic indicators and socio-economic impact, particularly in terms of employment generation and livelihood support; and
(c) the details of new schemes, policies or initiatives undertaken by the Government to further boost the MSME sector with specific reference to the initiatives and support extended in the State of Bihar? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE)
(a) & (b): Udyam Registration Portal was launched on 01.07.2020 with the revised criteria for classification of MSMEs. As on 28.07.2025, the total number of MSMEs registered on the Udyam Registration Portal (including Udyam Assist Platform) and Employment reported in all India from
01.07.2020 to 15.07.2025 was 6.59 Crore and 28.49 crore respectively. The details are given below:

(c): The Central Government supplements the efforts of the States/UTs through various schemes, programmes and policy initiatives for promoting the growth and competitiveness of MSMEs and facilitating technological upgradation and innovation of MSMEs in the country including Bihar.
These schemes/ programmes include Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme, Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises, PM Vishwakarma scheme, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme scheme, Micro and Small Enterprises – Cluster Development Programme, Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance, MSME Champions Scheme, etc.
