hostels(WWHs) in every district of Rajasthan, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether Tonk and Sawai Madhopur districts have been included in the first phase of
the said scheme, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether land acquisition and construction plans for WWHs has been finalised in the
said districts, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether any timeline has been set for completion of construction/operationalisation
of the hostels in the said districts, if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) The Government is committed to providing safe, secure and affordable hostel
facility for working women and women aspiring to join the work force. Working women
hostels are critical components for improving participation of women in the labour force,
which is a major step towards realising the idea of ‘Women led development’.
Ministry of Finance (MoF), Department of Expenditure (DoE) in August, 2024 has allocated
Rs.5,000/- crores to 28 States under Part (X) (Construction of Working Women Hostels) of
Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) Scheme for construction of
working women hostel. Under this Scheme, Rs.202.00 crore has been allocated to the State
of Rajasthan. The State Government of Rajasthan has submitted proposals for construction
of hostels in all 41 Districts at the total cost of Rs.165.32 crore including Tonk (50 beds at
the cost of Rs.3.59 crore at Sonwa, Tonk) and Sawai Madhopur (50 beds at the cost of
Rs.3.59 crore at Alanpur, Sawai Madhopur). These proposals have been approved by DoE
and 1st instalment of Rs.109.11 crore has been released by DoE to the State Government
of Rajasthan during 2024-25. Details of hostels approved under SASCI Scheme for
construction in the State of Rajasthan are at Annexure.
The State Government of Rajasthan has informed that around 1500 sqm. land has
been allotted in each of the Districts of Tonk and Sawai Madhopur. The administrative and
financial sanction of Rs.358.80 lakh and Notice Inviting Tender (N.I.T.) have been issued
on 13.05.2025 and 16.06.2025 respectively for these two Districts by the State Government.
