(a) the total number of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes
supported under the Research and Innovation component for the scheme for Fisheries,
Animal Husbandry and dairying till date, State-wise;
(b) the total funds sanctioned and released to each institute during the last five years, State-
wise;
(c) the details and the total number of veterinarians educated and trained under the
Continuous Veterinary Education (CVE) component in the country till date, State-
wise; and
(d) whether the Government has conducted any publicity and awareness programs at
block level for creation of awareness of the farmers about the animal disease control
programs of the Government and if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) & (b) The total number of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes
supported under the National Livestock Mission (NLM) scheme of the Department of
Animal Husbandry & Dairying and the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)
of the Department of Fisheries, along with the total funds sanctioned and released to each
institute over the past five years, are detailed in Annexure-I (a and b).
(c) The education and training to the veterinarians is under the domain of the respective
State/UT. However, Department provides financial supports to the States/UTs as per the
demand for undertaking trainings of Veterinarians under Assistance to States for Control of
Animal diseases (ASCAD) of Livestock Health & Disease Control Program (LHDCP). The
detail of number of in-service Veterinarian(s) supported for the training as per State/UTs’
demand is placed as Annexure-II.
(d) Department provides financial support to States/UTs for publicity and awareness
programs at block level for creation of awareness of the farmers under National Animal
Disease Control Program (NADCP) of Livestock Health & Disease Control Program
(LHDCP). Further, DAHD also undertakes publicity and awareness related activities
through Prasar Bharti. The details are placed as Annexure-III.Annexure – I (a)
