IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY ACT

Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION be pleased
to state:
(a) the total expenditure incurred by the Union Government under the National Food Security Act
(NFS A) in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh during the last three years;
(b) the details of the number of beneficiaries covered under NFS A in Karnataka and Himachal
Pradesh separately indicating the number of Antyodaya Anna Yojana, households and Priority
Household beneficiaries during the last three years, district-wise;
(c) the details of the status of digitisation of ration cards, Aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries and
automation of Fair Price Shops through electronic Point of Sale devices in Karnataka and
Himachal Pradesh; and
(d) the details of the number of duplicate, fake or ineligible ration cards identified and deleted in
Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh because of digitisation, Aadhaar seeding and ePoS-based
authentication during the last three years?

(a) The details of food subsidy released to State Government of Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh
under DCP mode for distribution of food grains under National Food Security Act and Other
Welfare Schemes during the last three years are as under:

in addition, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme- “Assistance to State Agencies for intra-
state movement of foodgrains and Fair Price Shor) (FPS) dealers’ margin under NFS A”, the funds
are also released by DFPD to States/UTs for meeting the expenditure towards intra-State
movement & handling of foodgrains, FPS dealers’ basic & additional margin. The details of funds
released to State govt of Karnataka and III,machat Pradesh during the last 3 years under the scheme
are as under:
