IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL HIGHWAYS PROJECTS IN WEST BENGAL

be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the ongoing National Highway (NH) projects being
implemented in Hooghly and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal, including
the four-laning of the de-scoped stretches of NH-12 from Krishnagar to
Berhampore and the proposed bridge over the river Ganga near Farakka;
(b) the present status, estimated cost, physical and financial progress and
expected date of completion of these projects;
(c) whether the Government has faced any delay due to land acquisition,
environmental clearance, fund allocation or other administrative reasons in
connection with such projects; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to ensure timely completion of these
projects and improve road connectivity in the districts?

(a) to (c) The details of ongoing National Highway (NH) works being
implemented in Hooghly and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal are
annexed.(d) The progress of all ongoing projects is closely and periodically reviewed
at various levels i.e. at site, regional and at central level. Proactive steps are
taken to resolve bottlenecks such as land acquisition, utility shifting, and
statutory clearances in coordination with the State Government of West
