Implementation of PM-SHRI Scheme in Rajasthan

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has been implementing the Prime Minister Schools for Rising
India (PM-SHRI) Scheme;
(b) if so, the salient features of the scheme;
(c) the amount of funds disbursed to the State Governments for the implementation of the
scheme;
(d) whether the Government has taken note that the Government of Rajasthan has not
implemented the said scheme; and
(e) whether the Government proposes to implement the said scheme in Bharatpur district of
Rajasthan?

(a) & (b): PM SHRI schools are set up by strengthening the existing schools from amongst
schools managed by Central Government/State/UT Government/local bodies. These schools
are to showcase all the initiatives of National Education Policy 2020 and emerge as exemplar
schools over a period of time, and also offer leadership to other schools in the
neighbourhood. They provide leadership in their respective regions in providing high-quality
education in an equitable, inclusive and joyful school environment that takes care of the
diverse background, multilingual needs, and different academic abilities of children and
makes them active participants in their own learning process as per the vision of NEP 2020.
Under PM SHRI scheme, a total of 13,076 schools have been selected from 33
States/UTs along with KVS/NVS/NCERT through the transparent challenge method.
The major features in the PM SHRI scheme are:
1. Quality and Innovation (Learning Enhancement Programme, Holistic Progress Card,
Innovative Pedagogies, Bagless days, Internships with Local artisans, Capacity
building etc.)
2. Beneficiary oriented Entitlements under Right to Education (RTE) Act.
3. Annual School Grants (Composite School grants, Library grant, Sports grant)
4. Early Childhood Care and Education including Balvatika and Foundational Literacy
and Numeracy
5. Equity and Inclusion including provision of safe and appropriate infrastructure for
girls and children with special needs (CwSN).
6. Encouraging flexibility in choice of subjects offered to students.7. Encouraging mother tongue as medium of instruction using technological
interventions to help bridge language barriers between teachers and students.
8. ICT, smart classrooms and digital libraries for using digital pedagogy.
9. Strengthening of existing infrastructure
10. Vocational interventions & Enhancing internship/entrepreneurship opportunities
especially with local industry. Mapping of skills with developmental projects/nearby
industry and develop courses/curriculum accordingly.
(c): The total funds disbursed under PM SHRI scheme to the States/UTs/KVS/NVS
during FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25 is attached as Annexure I.
(d) & (e): PM SHRI scheme is being implemented in the state of Rajasthan and a total of 639
PM SHRI schools have been selected from the state of Rajasthan out of which 16 schools are
Primary, 123 schools are Elementary, 18 schools are Secondary and 482 schools are Senior
Secondary.
Further, a total of 15 PM SHRI schools have been selected in the district of Bharatpur
from the state of Rajasthan out of which 4 schools are Elementary and 11 schools are Senior
Secondary.
