In r/o the central government establishments, the 4% reservation is implemented in both direct recruitment and promotion. For State Government establishments, the respective State Governments are the appropriate authorities responsible for implementing the reservation provisions as mandated in the Act.(c) & (d): The Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan), launched on 3 December 2015, now subsumed under the “Scheme for Creation of Barrier Free Environment (CBFE)", aimed to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities in the built environment, transport, and information- communication sectors. The Centre does not maintain district- wise accessibility data. To aid States and service providers, the Department has empanelled 60 accessibility auditors for the built environment, who can be engaged by authorities on mutually agreed terms to conduct audits of public and private infrastructure as required.
