SMT. JEBI MATHER HISHAM: Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state: (a) whether Kerala has proposed to import wild animals from overseas for the Puthoor Zoological Park, Thrissur; (b) whether approvals from Central Zoo Authority and permits under the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) have been sought or granted; (c) whether Government has verified quarantine, veterinary certification and Central Zoo Authority transport protocols for these imports; (d) whether Government would provide a species-wise details of wild animals proposed to be imported and sourcing countries; and (e) whether the zoo’s infrastructure, biosecurity and animal welfare have been assessed before imports and if so, the details thereof?
