Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-
(a) the rank and designation of Government official who signed the
condolence book at the Iranian Embassy, Delhi after the death of Iranian
President Hassan Rouhani in 2024;
(b) the rank and designation of Government official who signed the
condolence book at the Iranian Embassy, Delhi after the death of
Ayatollah Khamenei; and
(c) the reasons for the difference in the level of representation?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH)
(a) Does not arise as Iran’s President in 2024 was not Hassan Rouhani.
(b) Foreign Secretary had signed the condolence book at the Iranian
Embassy, Delhi, on 5 March 2026 after the death of Ayatollah Khamenei.
(c) Does not arise.
