INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR IN DHANBAD AND BOKARO
2594. SHRI DULU MAHATO:
Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has received any formal proposals regarding the
construction of industrial corridors in Dhanbad and Bokaro, if so, the details
thereof;
(b) whether the Government is considering grant of approval at the central level for
construction of industrial corridors in the above two districts, if so, the details
thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to improve industrial infrastructure in
Dhanbad and Bokaro for the implementation of said proposal so as to utilize full
industrial potential of these areas, if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government is conducting any study or preparing any report to
assess the possibilities of construction of industrial corridors in the said districts,
and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the time by which the Government is likely to take action on this proposal so as
to accelerate industrial development in the said areas?

(a) to (e): Government of India has undertaken development of industrial townships under
the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) through
Special Purpose Vehicles formed jointly with the State Government. The
project development activities include identification of industrial nodes as per
the prioritisation of the State government, followed by preparation and approval
of concept master plan and development plan, environmental clearance and
detailed design plan by the State government, prior to consideration of the
project for approval. The State Government contribution is in the form of land
and Govt of India’s contribution is in the form of equity and/or debt. As part of
the Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC), confirmation for availability of
land from the State Government for development of industrial nodes in
Jharkhand state has not been received.
