Parliament Question: Industrial Development in Bihar

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 459 ANSWERED ON 21.07.2026 INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT IN BIHAR †459. SHRI GOPAL JEE THAKUR: Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state: (a) the details of the initiatives taken by the Ministry during the last five years to promote industrial development and employment generation in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency and Mithilanchal region of Bihar; (b) whether the Government is proposing any special plan for establishment of industrial units or expansion of manufacturing activities in Darbhanga region; (c) the details of industrial projects approved in Bihar under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India campaign along with the extent of participation of Darbhanga region therein; and (d) whether the Government is contemplating on setting up of any industrial cluster or manufacturing unit in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency in view of the employment generation for the youth? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a): Since Industry is a State Subject as per the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India, the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) does not maintain any centralized data relating to the establishment of Heavy Industries in any part of the Country including Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency and Mithilanchal region of Bihar. (b to d): Do not arise. ******
