INFRASTRUCTURE OF AWCS IN KOLHAPUR
3397. SHRI SHAHU SHAHAJI CHHATRAPATI:
Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) sanctioned, operational and upgraded under
Saksham Anganwadi, taluka-wise in Kolhapur district, along with children regularly attending
and workers therein;
(b) the stunting, wasting, underweight and anaemia reduction achieved in Kolhapur under
POSHAN Abhiyan during 2022-26 against NFHS-5 baselines, taluka-wise; and
(c) the number of cases registered, services provided and outcomes achieved at the One Stop
Centre and Women Helpline 181 in Kolhapur district during 2023-26?
ANSWER

(a) and (b) The district wise number of sanctioned and operational Anganwadi Centres
(AWCs), children attending AWCs, Anganwadi Workers and malnutrition indicators (stunting,
wasting and underweight) in children (0-5 years) and nutritional status of beneficiaries
registered on Poshan Tracker is available at the link: https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics.
A total of 526 AWCs have been sanctioned for upgradation to Saksham Anganwadi in the
district of Kolhapur.
(c) One Stop Centre (OSC) Scheme for women is being implemented since 1st April, 2015. It
provides integrated and immediate support and assistance under one roof to women affected
by violence and those in distress, both in private and public spaces across the country. As on
date, 991 One Stop Centres have been made operational across the country and, since inception,
i.e. 1st April, 2015 to 30th June, 2026, over 15.20 lakh women have been assisted through One
Stop Centres. The services provided include medical aid, legal aid and advice, temporary
shelter, police assistance and psycho-social counselling. As on date, 68 One Stop Centres are
operational in the State of Maharashtra, including 02 One Stop Centres in Kolhapur district.
During the last three years, i.e. 2023-24 to 2025-26, over 26,019 women have been assisted
through One Stop Centres in the State of Maharashtra.Women Helpline (181) provides 24-hour toll-free telecommunication services to support
women in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Since inception, i.e. 1st April, 2015
to 30th June, 2026, over 1.04 crore women have been assisted through Women Helplines across
the country. During the last three years, i.e. 2023-24 to 2025-26, over 3.55 lakh women have
been assisted through Women Helpline in the State of Maharashtra.
