(c) whether the Government will fast-track the project to stimulate industrial growth
in Western Tamil Nadu, generate employment and boost exports?

(a) to (c): The Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) is one of the 11 Industrial
Corridors being taken up for the development under the NICDP along the
Bangalore–Chennai Expressway, or National Expressway 7 (NE-7), as the
transportation backbone.
As part of CBIC, two projects - Dharmapuri–Salem Node (under Chennai
Bengaluru Industrial Corridor Extension) and Ponneri Node- were identified for
development in the State of Tamil Nadu as part of the Industrial Corridor
Programme.
The State Government has informed that the proposed sites are being taken
up for development by the State on its own. Further, no alternate land parcels
have been identified or communicated by the State Government for
development.
