ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a): Education is part of the Concurrent List of the Constitution and most of the Government schools are under the administration of the State Government and its bodies. The Ministry of Education implements ICT and Digital initiatives such as PM eVidya and DIKSHA under Samagra Shiksha to enhance and transform digital learning and strengthen technology enabled teaching in Government schools across the country including the State of Madhya Pradesh and particularly Satna Lok Sabha constituency. The initiatives aim to enhance the quality of education by integrating technology into teaching and learning processes. Under the scheme, funds are provided for setting up ICT Labs and Smart Classrooms according to the requirement of the State submitted in the Annual Work Plan & Budget (AWP&B). A comprehensive initiative called PM eVidya has been launched, which unifies all efforts related to digital/online/on-air education to enable multi-mode access to education across the country. The key components of PM eVidya are also aligned towards enhancing digital literacy and include 200 DTH TV channels and 400 Radio channels to enable all States/UTs to provide supplementary education in various Indian languages for classes 1-12. Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA) is the Nation’s One Nation, One Digital platform for providing quality e-content for school education in States/UTs along with QR coded Energised Textbooks (ETBs) for all grades. As a participant in DIKSHA, States/UTs/ABs have generated and contributed over 3.67 lakh content in mother local/regional languages enabling multilingualism. The platform supports both online and offline access, enabling learners to download content and continue learning without internet connectivity. The stakeholders have access to more than 836 Virtual Labs and 100 Virtual skill labs (50 each in Hindi and English) on DIKSHA that help students with simulation of real- world laboratory environments.Further, the Government has introduced AI enabled features on DIKSHA like Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) for students of Class 9 and 10 for Science and Mathematics, Ask DIKSHA (Chat with Books), Video Keyword Search, Read Aloud, AI-based Translation are available nationwide for all users. The Summary feature provides the user a brief overview of the entire chapter by summarising key concepts and important points for quick revision. As part of the Podcast feature, AI generated conversational discussion helps explain a topic or chapter, enabling students to learn through listening. Through the Join the Conversation feature, users can join the podcast conversation anytime to ask questions and get their doubts addressed in real time.
