Integration of AYUSH Health Centres with Digital System

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of rural and urban AYUSH health centres integrated with digital
and smart monitoring systems under National Ayush Mission (NAM) in Bundelkhand region;
(b) whether the Government has prepared any special action plan for Capacity Building and
Training Programmes for AYUSH practitioners and health workers in the Bundelkhand
region and if so, the details thereof:
(c) whether the Union Government, in collaboration with the State Government, is
implementing projects in Bundelkhand for the conservation, cultivation and development of
traditional medicinal plants; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER

(a) As per the proposals received from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh & Madhya
Pradesh, 193 Ayush dispensaries have been approved for upgradation into Ayushman Arogya
Mandir (Ayush) [erstwhile known as Ayush health & wellness centres] in the Bundelkhand
region. Further, as reported by these States, all are functional. The District-wise details of the
Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) are enclosed as Annexure. Further, these units are under
constant monitoring, both digitally and in-person through field visits for analysing its smooth
functioning and services being provided to the beneficiaries.
(b) Public Health being a State subject, preparation of action plan for Capacity Building and
Training Programmes for Ayush practitioners and health workers comes under the purview of
respective State Government. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National
Ayush Mission (NAM), there is provision for training and capacity building for teaching
staffs, Medical Officers and other paramedical staffs working in the educational institution
and Ayush Hospitals/Dispensaries under Flexible Component. In this regard, State
1Governments may avail financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through State
Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) as per the provisions of the NAM guideline.
In addition, Ministry of Ayush is also implementing a Central Sector Scheme, Ayurgyan
since 2021-22 with two components i.e. Capacity Building & Continuing Medical Education
in Ayush. Further, a 3rd component viz. Ayurveda Biology Integrated Health Research was
added under the scheme from FY 2023-24. Capacity Building & CME was aimed to
encourage Ayush personnel to undergo need-based professional training and bridge the
knowledge gaps with the objective to update the professional knowledge, adopt good
teaching practices and good clinical practices, improve healthcare services at Ayush facilities,
update regarding current trends in Research and Development (R&D) activities for
development of Ayush systems.
(c) & (d) Ministry of Ayush has established a section National Medicinal Plant Board
(NMPB) to promote development and cultivation of medicinal plants and to harmonise the
development activities between several ministries/departments/organisations. Central Sector
Scheme for “Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants”
is one such scheme launched by NMPB to focus on cultivation and protection of medicinal
plants to facilitate different stakeholders including States/UTs.
