Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) that have been sanctioned
in the country during the last five years, year/State and district-wise particularly in the
State of Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the number of enrollments in JNVs in the State of Andhra Pradesh, JNV-wise;
(c) the total number of teaching and non-teaching posts that have recently been filled
in each of the JNVs and the posts lying vacant at present in Andhra Pradesh;
(d) the details of student enrollment figures for each JNV in Andhra Pradesh during
the last five years, including gender-wise;
(e) the details of infrastructure and facilities available in each JNV, including hostels,
classrooms, laboratories and any plans for upgrades;
(f) the details of Central Government assistance provided for JNVs in Andhra
Pradesh during the last five years, including funds allocated and utilised; and
(g) whether any proposals are pending with the Government for establishment of
new JNVs or upgradation of existing ones and if so, the details of the status and
reasons for delay?

(a): The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme envisages for opening of one Navodaya
Vidyalaya (NV) in each district of the country. Opening of new NVs is a continuous
process which depends on the willingness of the concerned State Government/UT
administration to make available requisite suitable land, free of cost, for construction
of the permanent building and making available required temporary building, free of
rent, to run the Vidyalaya till the permanent building is constructed. Sanction andopening of new NVs depends on approval by the competent authority as per extant
procedures.
Total 28 new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have been sanctioned during the last
five years in the uncovered districts of the country. State/UT and district-wise list is at
Annexure – I.
(b) to (d): NV-wise, Gender-wise & Year-wise details of student enrolment in each
NV of Andhra Pradesh during the last five years are at Annexure – II.
The details of posts of Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff filled and posts lying
vacant in NVs of Andhra Pradesh as on 30.06.2025 are at Annexure -III.
(e): The infrastructure facilities in NVs, are as per the prescribed norms, such as
Classrooms, Labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer subjects, Library,
Storeroom, Boys / Girls Dormitory, Guest House, Staff Quarters, etc.
(f): The budgetary support is provided to NVS every year as Grants-in-aid under
three distinct Heads of Account viz. Salaries, General and Creation of Capital Assets
for opening and functioning of NVs. Funds are not allocated to NVS State/UT-wise.
