PRABHA MALLIKARJUN: पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम एवं (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) the current status of all ongoing oil and natural gas extraction projects in the Krishna- Godavari (KG) Basin, including production capacities, operational progress, timelines and revenue generated; (b) the economic, employment and energy security benefits derived so far from the KG Basin projects, including State/UT-wise contributions and local development initiatives; (c) the current capacity, storage and utilisation status of the country's Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) and the role of production from the KG Basin in supplementing these reserves; (d) the measures taken to ensure optimal integration of domestic hydrocarbon production with SPR planning including contingency preparedness for supply disruptions; and (e) the steps being adopted to ensure environmental sustainability, safety compliance and efficient utilisation of resources in both KG Basin hydrocarbon projects and Strategic Petroleum Reserves? ANSWER पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम एवं (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ालय म(cid:336) रा(cid:475)मं(cid:361)ी ((cid:373)ी सुरेश गोपी) MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS (SHRI SURESH GOPI) (a) A consolidated statement giving details of offshore oil and gas exploration and development projects under implementation in the Krishna-Godavari Basin and other offshore areas of Andhra Pradesh is placed at Annexure-I. (b) The KG Basin projects have delivered substantial economic, employment, and energy security benefits, primarily concentrated in Andhra Pradesh leading to injection of massive capital investment across major developments, generating significant revenue streams,fostering infrastructure spending, supply chain activation, creation of diverse job opportunities in specialized areas, onshore facility management, boosting both skilled and unskilled employment in the KG regionand multiplier effects from oil and gas monetization.The basin also strengthens India's domestic hydrocarbon production, reducing import dependence with vast reserves of natural gas and crude oil that enhance energy reliability and fuel national growth. (c) & (d) Government, through a Special Purpose Vehicle, called Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL), has established Strategic petroleum Reserves (SPR) facilities with total capacity of 5.33 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of crude oil. Government have also approved two additional commercial-cum-strategic petroleum reserves facilities.The Government ensures the optimal integration of domestic hydrocarbon production with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), enhancing preparedness for unforeseen supply disruptions through a multi-pronged approach which includes coordinated planning, contingency preparedness, infrastructure optimization, industry coordination and continuous monitoring. (e) Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is the nodal authority for grant of statutory Environmental and other requisite clearances, based on a comprehensive assessment of potential environmental impacts and the adequacy of proposed mitigation measures.
