GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARED QUESTION NO. 3166 TO BE ANSWERED ON DECEMBER 18, 2025 LAND LEASE REVISION OF DELHI GOLF CLUB NO. 3166. SHRI MATHESWARAN V S:
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the reasons for not revising/increasing the land rates/lease rates operated by the Land and Development Office (L&DO) for the Delhi Golf Club since 2011 as 170 acres valuable land was given on lease to the said Club; and
(b) the names of officers, serving or retired who acquired membership of the Delhi Golf Club during their posting in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs since 2010 till date ? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU)
(a)& (b) : Delhi Golf Club was established as a municipal course in the early 1930s and was earlier known as Lodhi Golf Club. The lease of the land allotted earlier has been extended from time to time. The last lease renewal for an area of 179 acres to The Delhi Golf Club was done on 19th July, 2012. Land rates operated by L&DO are linked to market value and are the basis for determining lease rates for various uses including clubs.
The latest revision for Delhi Golf Club was done with effect from
01.01.2011. The Delhi Golf Club manages its own affairs as per its Memorandum of Association/ Articles of Association etc. and also grants memberships under the same. *****
