LPG SUBSIDY AND BENEFICIARIES
4127 DR. V. SIVADASAN:
Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) the total amount of subsidy provided by Government on domestic LPG during each of the
last five years, year-wise;
(b) the scheme-wise break-up of the subsidy provided under schemes such as Direct Benefit
Transfer for LPG (DBTL) and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY);
(c) the number of beneficiaries who received LPG subsidy under each of the above schemes
during each of the last five years;
(d) the number of beneficiaries covered under each scheme, State/UT-wise; and
(e) the amount of LPG subsidy transferred to beneficiaries under each scheme during the last
five years, State/UT-wise?

(a) to (e): Funds under DBTL and PMUY are not allocated/utilized state-wise. The scheme-
wise details of subsidy on domestic LPG during last five years are given below:

In addition to above subsidy, Government has also released a compensation of Rs. 22,000
crore to OMCs in FY 2022-23 for under-recoveries incurred on sale of domestic LPG.During
FY 2025-26, Government has approved another compensation of Rs. 30,000 crore.
Details of number of LPG connections released under DBTL and PMUY during the last five
years are given below:
