be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that maintenance work of the National Highway-27 in
district Gopalganj of Bihar are still not completed since long time despite
repeated verbal as well as written communication to the officials of Ministry
concerned, if so, the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the stretch of NH-27 in district Gopalganj in Bihar is badly
maintained in comparison to Uttar Pradesh and other TRI districts, if so, the
reasons therefor;
(c) whether it is a fact that signage, pit, hole, ditch and plantation are not
properly maintained or completed at stretch of NH-27 in district Gopalganj of
Bihar, if so, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government has taken any measures to direct the authority
concerned to ensure proper maintenance of stretch of NH-27 in District
Gopalganj of Bihar as per norms; and
(e) whether the Government has proposed for any contract for maintenance
of said stretch, if so, the details thereon?

(a) to (e) Maintenance of the Gopalganj to Kotwa section of NH-27 has been
taken up through Performance Based Maintenance Contract (PBMC) of five
years and commenced in July 2024. Scope of the maintenance contractincludes initial rectification, routine maintenance, periodic maintenance and
emergency work in the specified timeline.
Currently, initial rectification has been taken up in some critical sections
to keep the road in traffic worthy condition. For improving the riding quality,
overlay/renewal is proposed on the entire section in a phased manner within
the scope of PBMC Contractor. Further, construction of a Bridge over River
Gandak is under implementation causing inconvenience in seamless
movement of traffic. All efforts are being made for early completion of the
bridge.
