(a) whether the Government has awarded any new port development projects in major
ports over the last three years, and if so, the details of these projects, particularly in
Andhra Pradesh;
(b) whether these projects are part of the Maritime India Vision (MIV), 2030 initiative,
and if so, the manner in which they contribute to enhancing cargo handling capacity and
operational efficiency:
(c) whether there has been an increase in capital expenditure and Gross Budget
Support for the Ministry in recent years, and if so, the specific figures for financial year
2024-25;
(d) whether the Government has implemented any measures to monitor the outcomes
of MlV, 2030, including the establishment of tracking portals or cells, and if so, the
specific functions thereof and;
(e) whether these initiatives are expected to create employment opportunities in the
maritime sector and if so, the estimates that can be provided regarding job creation?

(a) to (b) Yes. Around 116 number of new port development projects have been
awarded in Major Ports under Maritime India Vision (MIV), 2030, with a total investment
of approximately ₹11,528 crore, including 06 new projects worth ₹ 760 crore at
Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA), which is the only Major Port in Andhra Pradesh.
These projects are primarily focused on expansion of cargo handling capacity,
improvement in operational performance through mechanization, automation, and
technological upgradation of port operations, enhancement of multimodalconnectivity, digitalization and standardization of port processes, infrastructure
strengthening, and adoption of smart and green port initiatives etc.
(c) Yes. The details of Gross Budget Support to the Ministry in last three years is at
Annexure –I
(d) The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has established the
