On February 4, 2026, SMT Mahima Kumari Mewar posed Unstarred Question No. 864 to the Prime Minister regarding government efforts to promote the mining and utilization of minerals related to nuclear energy in Rajasthan. The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions and Prime Minister's Office (Dr. Jitendra Singh) responded that the Atomic Minerals Directorate of Exploration and Research (AMDER), under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has discovered a Uranium deposit in Sikar District, Rajasthan. The DAE has nominated Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) as the prospective lessee under the Atomic Minerals Concession Rules, 2016 for the mining lease of the Rohil Uranium Deposit in Sikar District, Rajasthan. Action is in progress to obtain all statutory clearances for commencing mining operations.

(a) & (b) Yes. Atomic Minerals Directorate of Exploration and Reserarch (AMDER), a
constituent unit under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has discovered Uranium
deposit in Sikar District, Rajasthan. DAE has nominated Uranium Corporation of
India Limited (UCIL) as the prospective lessee under provisions of Atomic Minerals
Concession Rules, 2016 for the grant of mining lease for the Rohil Uranium Deposit
in Sikar District, Rajasthan. Action is in hand to obtain all statutory clearances for
commencing the mining operations.
