GENIBEN NAGAJI THAKOR: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) the details of the schemes implemented/being implemented to modernize National/State- level museums and archives in the country; (b) the details of the expenditure incurred under the said schemes so far; (c) whether digitalization work is being carried out in the said museums; and (d) if so, the details thereof along with the steps taken to increase public access? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) Ministry of Culture operates Museum Grant Scheme under which financial assistance is provided for setting up of New Museums/development of the existing museums/digitization of museum collections/setting up of virtual museums and training of museums professionals of museums managed by Central/State Governments, Societies, Autonomous bodies, Public sector Undertaking, local bodies, Academic Institutions and Trusts registered under the societies Act at the regional, State and District Level in the country.
