SHRI MANOJ TIWARI: Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has decided to strengthen the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under any new national policy or action plan for the promotion of lndian cinema, regional films, independent filmmakers, emerging talent as well as feature films, short films and documentaries; (b) if so, the details thereof including the financial, institutional and programmatic support proposed under the said policy; (c) whether the Government has any proposal to establish regional centres of the NFDC across various States and Union Territories to promote film production, film training, film distribution, international co-productions and to encourage the production of films and documentaries showcasing India's cultural diversity, the lives and contributions of unsung heroes from di(cid:431)erent States and patriotic themes including documentaries highlighting the dedication and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces; and (d) if so, the details thereof along with the timeline for implementation and if not, the reasons therefor?ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS (DR. L. MURUGAN) (a) to (d) The Government allocates funds under the Development, Communication and Dissemination of Filmic Content (DCDFC) Scheme to the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). NFDC’s objectives are to promote the creation, innovation, and dissemination of film content. The scheme supports the organization of and participation in national and international film festivals to promote Indian films. It provides financial assistance to filmmakers and film-related institutions to enhance the visibility and global reach of Indian cinema. It also promotes the preservation, restoration, digitization, and archiving of India's film heritage. Film shooting permissions are facilitated through the India Cine Hub (ICH). It is a single- window digital portal managed by NFDC. It facilitates domestic and international producers to obtain filming permissions and access information on filming locations across the country. The Ministry also supports filmmakers and other creative professionals by organizing and supporting film festivals, workshops, screenings, masterclasses etc. ***
